Taster sessions
If you’re new to Sounds-Write, a taster session is a perfect introduction. You’ll start with a short presentation about our approach and see the real impact the program has had at the school you’re visiting. You’ll also have the chance to observe classrooms, meet staff, and ask questions—all in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
Spotlight on the classroom
If you’re already using Sounds‑Write and want to deepen your team’s expertise, this visit gives you the chance to observe live teaching sessions. It’s an opportunity to see the program fully embedded in a school that has been delivering Sounds‑Write successfully for several years.

About Sounds-Write Gold and Silver Schools
Being part of a community of schools committed to excellent phonics teaching, Silver and Gold Schools show consistent, high‑quality practice and strong results for children.
Gold Schools have held Silver status for at least two years and consistently deliver high‑quality, faithful implementation with strong student outcomes. Gold status recognises sustained excellence where effective phonics teaching is deeply embedded and rigorously maintained.
Every Silver and Gold accredited school completes a biannual audit to ensure the Sounds‑Write program is embedded with fidelity and consistency across their setting.
Every Gold accredited school is supported by a dedicated Phonics Lead who has completed, and retains full access to, all Sounds-Write specialist courses — equipping them to lead with expertise and provide high-quality support both within their school and across the wider community.
Accredited schools take part in regular network meetings with Sounds‑Write, staying connected, sharing best practice, contributing to a supportive network, and keeping up to date with new developments in the program.
